EducationI am a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science Biomedical Engineering, currently working for Medical Device manufacturer in SWFL.
ExperienceI have a lot of experience tutoring and mentoring students. I began to tutor after my first math class. Since then I've tutored/taught classes for the Upward Bound Program (College Prep for High Schools), served the Lee County School Board as an AVID Tutor at Dunbar Middle School, an ESOL English Teacher and currently as a Substitute Teacher, and for four years at FGCU's Student Support Services Program. I also provided SAT and ACT math prep.
I know how important it is to be patient with a student so that the student can get a better understanding of the material being covered. This does not always happen in the classrooms, and I enjoy being able to help students understand the material much more. This not only helps them, but I always learn something new myself. HobbiesOutside of work I like to be involved in many things. I serve as a youth leader for my church. I am also an active person; basketball is one of my favorite sports to play. The most exciting part of my life right now is that my wife and I are raising a daughter and venturing into many different things! I look forward to the future and the opportunity to work with you, the student. (239) 745-1010

Shawn is responsive and communicates well with our 16.5 yr old teenager who is struggling with chemistry. I would recommend him to anyone as a positive influence.
Shawn explained information clearly. He used every minute to help me understand the material. I will use him again.
