EducationB.S. in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from the University of Iowa. Passed Praxis exam to be qualified to teach high school mathematics in 2011. While I don't have an education degree, I tend to think and teach practically. Through my experience working in education and as an actuary I've often taught (or in the workplace explained my solution ideas) in a logical way. I try to simplify problems to the basics and work backwards from there.
ExperienceWorked as a study hall supervisor, substitute teacher and long term substitute for Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus for 2 years. Extensive knowledge of mathematics and statistics, I have passed 5 actuarial exams. Received a 29 on my ACT including a 34 on mathematics and 32 in Science. My biggest strength is in logic and problem solving. It helps me pick up and recall how certain types of problems are solved by looking at the questions logically.
HobbiesSoccer, Volleyball, Traveling, most outdoor activities. When I'm not working or studying for actuarial exams, you'll usually find me at the beach or near a volleyball court.
